News Updates

June 6---Live ACtion DBZ Movie Update: The live action DBZ movie (that means with REAL actors) is set back. Shooting was supposed to take place this year and be released in 2004, however, shooting may not actually take place until 2004 and not air until 2005 or possibly 2006. This information still isn't for sure, but that is what is buzzing around the Anime community as of now.

August 11---Original line-up now back in Adult Swim: As most of you already know, the original line-up of Adult Swim on Cartoon Network has returned, sort of. No more marathons, which disappoints me. The current shows running are Yu-Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, Gundam 0083, Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, and Pilot Candidate. Why they only did marathons for two of it's shows is beyond me, and probably the rest of the Cartton Network viewing Anime world. Look here for the latest.

July 15---Cowboy Bebop Marathon: Next Saturday, July 20, Cartoon Network will be holding a Cowboy Bebop marathon. Unlike the Yu-Yu Hakusho marathon, which we forgot to cover, we jumped on this one nearly a week in advance. The marathon will contain six back-to-back episodes. Nifty, huh? I think this is turning into a routine--first Yu-Yu Hakusho, now Cowboy Bebop. Will there be any more marathons? Stay tuned here for the latest!

June 23---A New Section: A new section will soon be added to Anime Fan Page. It will feature our own web manga. Hopefully, this manga will not flop. It will be drawn by our new employee, who will be commonly referred to as "Zack." The maga will be about a disgruntled bounty hunter who has been out of the job for years, but is called on once again when terror strikes the hearts of some city. I haven't seen it, but I'm sure you will soon enough. I am not completely sure when our manga will be posted, but the first issue, if that's what you want to call it, has already been finished. Stay "tuned" for more details.

June 21---Contest Over: The first AFP contest has officially ended. It was a true success with all the great fanarts sent in. There is definitely some serious talent out there. The winner will be selected sometime tomorrow and posted on the winners section tomorrow as well. With the success of this contest, AFP will definitely hold more in the future.

June 15---A Sequel To Outlaw Star? Only a rumor now, but a slim possibility that Morningstar will produce a sequel series to Outlaw Star. There were rumors of plans being made, but the details are extremely fuzzy. There is no definite evidence that this information is true or not. Like I said, it is very hard to find hard facts on this subject. Who knows...maybe there will be a sequel to Outlaw Star...

June 3---Farewell Ginga Giri Giri:Yes. It is sad but true. Ginga Giri Giri has been officially shut down. Another big DBZ site to leave this year. So far, GGG and Planet Namek have left. Anime Fan Page is nothing compared to those two sites. So, we say, rest in peace GGG.

June 1---Anouncement: Conestants for the....uh...contest...you only have 20 more days to complete your fanarts and send them in. Remember, follow the rules stated. Must have something to do with AFP, must be something about summer, and must follow the regular fanart rules.

May 25---Attention fanartists: We will be holding a contest for best fanart of the month and will have YOUR fanart posted on the title page of AFP and in the future winner's section. Your fanart will only be posted if me and Tom feel it is the best of all entrees. We will stop excepting submissions for the contest on June 20. May the best artist win!

As most of you know already, a live action DBZ movie will be produced and possibly air sometime in 2003. This is an Anime historical landmark, DBZ being one of the most popular Anime shows ever. It most likely will not stop with just one movie however, but will probably be a series several movies long. The movie is being produced by Fox(trademark), who also produced Star Wars.
